Ethicon VICRYL is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer made of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide (polyglactin 910). The suture is braided and coated to enhance handling characteristics, knot security and smooth tissue passage.

This USP 4-0 violet suture is supplied as five 70 cm (27 inch) non-needled strands per unit, designed for ligation and soft tissue approximation procedures where a needle is not required.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis and have been shown to be nonantigenic, nonpyrogenic and to elicit only a slight tissue reaction during absorption. Each strand is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 24 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
